Geladas are the world's only primarily grass-eating primate, found only in the Ethiopian highlands. They're unmistakable: a thick cape of fur, a red hourglass patch on the chest, and complex social groups that can number in the hundreds.
Along the Simien escarpment, especially near Sankaber and Geech. They're habituated and can be watched closely without disturbance.
Keep a respectful distance, don't feed them, and let them approach you rather than the other way round. Mothers with infants should always be given extra space.

Visas, money, SIM cards, safety and what to expect on the ground.
